The project Lights on stAGE seeks to promote and facilitate the access to dance as an artistic practice for the generation 65+.
Its general objective is to contribute to a change in the image of age and ageing through the active participation of seniors in dance sessions and a creation process and by connecting them with places of art/dance.
Lights on stAGE is a transnational project between Barcelona and Vienna that unfolds a series of actions in the framework of contemporary dance, collective creation and the image of ageing. Tens molt a moure! is the core initiative of the project: a creation process of a dance piece with groups of people 65+.
The Creation Process Tens molt a moure (BCN) or respectively Was bewegt dich (Vienna) wants to offer a professional space for creation with the aim to create a dance piece in a participatory way, facilitated by dance artists and pedagogues. The final piece is presented in theatres and dance houses of Barcelona/Vienna.
Lights on stAGE also includes the elaboration of a handbook as a result of a theoretical approach on the one hand and a reflection of the pilot implementation phase on the other hand. The guide will be transferable to other organisations or artists who work with adults over 65 years in creative dance processes.
