THE
PROPOSAL
We invite people interested in movement, age 65+, who have a desire for dance and body experience, to a free, ten-week, artistic process.
In our ten-week workshop, we will dance, improvise, and learn about different ways to get into enjoyable movement. We want to go on a journey to experience with all our senses what moves us.
In every stage of life we have the possibility to experience things in a different or new way. Dance invites us in a special way to take a change of perspective. We invite you to experience your movements in a new context.
For this purpose we want to sensitize our perception together, feel space, (heavy) power and dynamics. We will get in touch with ourselves and the other participants and experience different possibilities of physical expression.
What can we tell non-verbally, what images do our bodies create in space? What emotional quality does dance have? At the end of our process we want to make selected moments and scenes visible for an audience.

THE GROUP
The workshop is designed for people aged 65+ with and without movement experience. The group consists of a maximum of 15 people.
The goal is to create a trusting environment for creative processes in which participants* enjoy the experience of creating their own piece. It is not necessary to have dance or movement experience to participate in the project. However, regular attendance at all workshop dates is important, as well as openness and curiosity to engage in a collaborative creation process.

Lights on stAGE is a transnational project between A.R.E.A Associació per a la recerca Educativa en els Arts Escèniques and queraum. kultur- und sozialforschung and is implemented simultaneously in Barcelona and Vienna. queraum. kultur- und sozialforschung is responsible for the local project coordination and implementation in Vienna.

queraum has been working successfully since 2004 in the planning, development, coordination, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of municipal, regional, national and European projects. Our spectrum of content is as diverse as our target groups.
The projects on active aging aim to expand the scope of action and participation opportunities of older and very old people.

Olivia Hild, Barbara Kirnbauer, Simone Kühle. We are three dance teachers from the Tanzwerkstatt Wien and studied at the MuK (Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien)! We are looking forward to seeing you!

Where will the units take place?
At the Tanzwerkstatt Wien, Goldeggasse 29, courtyard entrance, loft 1, 1040 Vienna

How do I register?
Please send us an email to vienna@lightsonstage.org by 14. 04. 2022 at the latest. On 19. 04. 2022, our meeting will take place at Tanzwerkstatt Wien. This is about the presentation of the project. Only then will the project group be put together and fixed!

Do I need prior knowledge?
No previous experience is needed to participate in our project. Only a basic willingness to get in touch with the body, openness and curiosity.

What are the Covid measures?
All participants should be vaccinated 3 times and (as long as still possible free of charge) regularly PCR tested. We will provide a well ventilated room, with disinfection facilities and will wear FFP2 masks if necessary after consultation.
